Though once a
private school, Hopkins Academy is Hadley’s outstanding
public Middle and High School for students in grades 7-12.
Hopkins was founded in 1664 thanks to an endowment from Edward
Hopkins, a wealthy Connecticut merchant.
The school excels in
academics compared to the majority of public schools in Massachusetts.
Hopkins Academy also has notable soccer, basketball and baseball teams with
a number of talented locally known athletes. Hopkins
is also home to an award winning concert/marching band.
Hopkins
Academy serves as a center of the Hadley community. The school
provides an opportunity for the entire community to take pride in the achievements
and accomplishments of Hadley's youth.
