Powering Small Machinery in 1900
During the 1900s the Hadley farmers still used animals to get things running. But they changed the design of the treadmill. Now the treads were horizontal, not sloped upward. It would keep the animals on the treadmill better. It kept the animals on more securely because they would have surer footing. They were still used to power machinery. At this point, the treadmill is used less because small engines have been invented.
