Farm Transportation in 1800

Transporting things in Hadley was more complicated in 1800. First you would have to get the horse all geared up. Next, you would have to attach the wagon to the horse. When you got to the field you would have to get helpers to load up the wagon. You might have mules, oxen, or both to pull smaller wagons. The wagon would be made of wood with a few iron parts. Some wagons were made at the Adams Mills in North Hadley in the 1800's. You might put the year's crops or hay on the wagon. Also, the wagon would be custom made for you. Lastly, if a part broke you would have to make a new one. Soon it would change a bit.
