Seed Planters in 1800

In 1800 seed planters in Hadley were simple. They only had two wheels and were pulled by oxen. Back then some seeders could be iron, but they were mostly wood. These seeders had little cylinders with holes 1½ inches deep. When the wheels turned the seed would drop into the little holes from a barrow. As the wheels kept turning, the seed would then drop on the ground. Seeding was a long and difficult job.
